We find that fostering a relationship based on honesty and trust can create significant breakthroughs in a patient’s confidence-building journey. In many cases, exploring the origin of your nerves and reassuring you that treatment will run smoothly can do wonders for your confidence and frame of mind when visiting the dentist in the future.

If you still feel apprehensive about dental treatment, we are one of a small handful of practices in the area to offer IV (intravenous) sedation.

What is IV sedation?

Intravenous sedation (IV) involves administering a conscious sedative into the back of the hand with a small needle called a cannula. IV sedation has been successfully used for decades, helping patients to go ahead with treatment (or a check-up) without feelings of anxiety and/or panic.

Why consider Dental Sedation?

Deep relaxation: relaxes you during any dental procedure.
Versatile: can be used during any dental treatment or routine check-up.
Amnesic effects: it’s common not to have any memory (or very little) of your procedure.
Fast recovery: patients tend to recover more quickly as the effects of sedation wear off. There is often no grogginess as it wears off (compared to other forms of sedation).

Who is a good candidate for dental sedation?

We recommend IV sedation for patients who:

Have a long-term fear of the dentist.
Would like to have no memory of their procedure.
They are undergoing a long procedure – IV sedation can help to pass the time. If you’re someone who struggles to sit still for long periods of time, it can help you to do so.

You hear the faint sound of binaural beats, a mix of tranquil marimba and Mongolian throat singing. There are monstera plants all around.  A woman with the best teeth you’ve ever seen tells you to have a seat, asks if you need water, and you begin to tell her about your life.  20 minutes go by, but you already feel as if you have narrated the entirety of your existence.  Have you found yourself in a rejuvenating dream or at the gates of heaven? No, you are just at Re:Nu Dental & Medispa.  Relax, you are in Dr. Rajagopal’s hands now. Latha takes a different approach to her practice than other professionals.  She talks through each step in the examination and cleaning and explains what you need to do to take ownership of your dental health.  I went in for a deep clean, and her touch could not have been more gentle.  My teeth feel brand new.  She also was able to point out other issues that I was having, identified a fracture that needed filling, and recommended a regimen to help me maintain my gum health. If you are looking for a dentist that is a consummate professional and cares about their patients, go with Re:Nu. You also will be helping the orangutans.

The clinic is very bright and inviting but also full of up to date tech and machines. Latha is so clear at explaining what needs to be done or suggesting improvements when helpful.
